General Requirements

Flange manufacturing companies must possess the technical capabilities, production capacity, and inspection and testing capabilities required for the products, along with at least two years of experience in the forging industry.

 

Manufacturing Equipment

Flange manufacturing companies should be equipped with a press machine with a minimum working pressure of 3000T, a ring rolling machine with a minimum ring diameter of 5000mm, heating furnaces, heat treatment furnaces, as well as CNC lathes and drilling equipment.

 

Heat Treatment Equipment Requirements

The heat treatment furnace should meet the requirements of the flanges’ heat treatment process (effective volume, heating rate, control accuracy, furnace uniformity, etc.).

The heat treatment furnace should undergo regular maintenance and be periodically tested for temperature uniformity (TUS) and accuracy (SAT) according to AMS2750E, with proper records maintained. The temperature uniformity test should be conducted at least semi-annually, and the accuracy test should be conducted at least quarterly.

 

Testing Equipment and Capability Requirements

Flange manufacturing companies should have testing equipment for mechanical performance testing, low-temperature impact testing, chemical composition testing, metallographic testing, and other relevant inspections. All testing equipment should be in good working condition, regularly calibrated, and within its validity period.

Flange manufacturing companies should have non-destructive testing equipment such as ultrasonic flaw detectors and magnetic particle inspection instruments. All equipment should be in good working condition, regularly calibrated, and within its validity period.

Flange manufacturing companies should establish an effective laboratory management system, and their physical and chemical testing capability as well as non-destructive testing capability should be certified by CNAS.

Instruments used for product quality-related inspections during the production process, such as Vernier calipers, inside and outside micrometers, dial indicators, infrared thermometers, etc., should be regularly calibrated and within their validity period.

 

Quality System Requirements

Flange manufacturing companies should establish an effective and comprehensive quality management system and obtain ISO 9001 (GB/T 19001) certification.

Before production, flange manufacturing companies should develop process documents and specifications for forging, heat treatment, non-destructive testing, etc.

During the production process, relevant records for each procedure should be promptly filled out. The records should be standardized and accurate, ensuring traceability at every stage of production and delivery for each product.

 

Personnel Qualification Requirements

Physical and chemical testing personnel in flange manufacturing companies should pass national or industry assessments and obtain corresponding qualification certificates for on-the-job positions.

Non-destructive testing personnel in flange manufacturing companies should hold national or industry qualification certificates at level 1 or above, and at least key operators involved in the forging, ring rolling, and heat treatment processes should be certified.
